PLAY THERAPY

a

There is always a sense in a child’s play. For a child a play is his reality, like an “interface” with the reality (which he is living now or which he experienced in the past).

The child is re-producing his reality and wants to tell something through the play. As children therapist we watch out what is especially the child own role that he attributes to himself in the selected play. A child always choses the play within a therapeutic session that he needs at that right moment. Children need to express themselves through the play, the talk (words) come only as secondary.

As with any client, the therapist is in the room for the child. Child needs to feel being validated and the cabinet and the session is a space dedicated for him. Children Therapy is mainly the work about creating (respectively re-creating) the child’s environment. Parents (family) plays an inevitable role in the process of children therapy.
